Registration and Fees
Below you will find information regarding Registration and Fees for the Palatine Amateur Football Association (PAFA) 2024 season! We have an exciting season planned, focused on providing local youth an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of football in a safe, positive environment, while building confidence, discipline, and character.
The fees help to pay for referees, league and park district fees, the player’s game jersey, as well as a personalized PAFA yard sign.
Initial Registration Fee (deposit):
- Register between February 15th - March 31st - $125
- Register between April 1st - April 30th - $150
- Register between May 1st - June 1st - player placed on waitlist - $175
*Non-resident of Palatine subject to a $20 fee. Will be invoiced after June 1st if applicable.
Program Fee: The balance of fees will be due on June 21st in the amount of $440 to cover the balance of program fees (fundraising tickets included in fee). Scholarship players will need to provide a copy of the letter received from the Palatine Park District listing their balance of program fees due, prior to June 21st.
Refunds: The initial registration fee, minus any processing fees, is refundable until May 1st, 2024. After May 1st, customized items will be ordered and your Initial Registration Fee will no longer be refundable. No refunds will be processed for the payment of Program Fees.
Fundraising: Each player will be required to participate in the PAFA Football Sweepstakes Fundraiser by selling a minimum of 2 sweepstakes tickets for $20/ticket (prepaid with Program Fees).
Equipment Handout: Equipment Handout will take place at the Palatine Park District Community Center. Players who did not play PAFA tackle in 2023 will be required to provide a copy of their birth certificate prior to receiving equipment.
- Players will receive - helmet, chin strap, mouthguard, shoulder pads, game pants, and practice jersey (game jersey and socks will be provided prior to season start).
- Players will need to purchase – football girdle (7-pad or 5-pad), knee pads (if you purchase a 5-pad girdle), protective cup, a rib vest or padded football shirt, football cleats, and large water jug.
Equipment Return: Players are required to return the equipment they receive from PAFA on the designated Equipment Return date in November. If a player does not return their equipment, the bank account or credit card on file will be charged a fee in the amount of $300 to cover the cost of equipment not returned.

2024 Season Faq
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Registration is open to players 3rd-8th grade. No past experience is required.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
Season begins with evaluations in late July/early August and runs until playoffs in mid November.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Practices are held at Palatine Park District fields and all home games are played at Ost Field. Away Games will be played at opposing BGYFL teams home location.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Teams practice 3-4 times per week for 90-120 minutes per practice depending on age level.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Teams will play 9 regular season games over the course of the season. Teams advancing to the BGYFL Playoffs will play an additional, up to, 3 games. Games will mostly fall on the weekends with the exception of some games scheduled during the week (usually older level teams).
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Customized jerseys are included in your registration fees and will be provided to each player prior to the first game of the season.
Jersey Numbers
How does my player select their jersey number?
Players returning to PAFA will keep their jersey number. In early May, an email will be sent to new players to select their jersey number from a list of available numbers at their level.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Team managers will collect funds to cover the end of season team banquet.
